Project co-funded by the European Commission in the framework of the 2nd Health Programme
Program for European Good Tissue Practices
General Objectives
  • To develop detailed European Good Tissue Practices for the activities carried out in tissue establishments (TE), contributing to the harmonization of these activities among European TEs in order to ensure a high level of quality and safety of tissue grafts for transplant.
  • To develop a training model for TE personnel based on the GTPs.
Workgroups
  • Work package n° 1 | Coordination of the project
    Leader:TSF partners involved: All
The project coordinator acts as the intermediary between the consortium and the EU Commission, ensuring the delivery of reports, deliverables and financial statements by creating a follow-up committee, a communication platform, regular meetings between project partners and setting up an operative work plan and deadlines.Acces to Work Package 01
  • Work package n° 2 | Dissemination of the results
    Leader: TSF partners involved: All
The objective of this working package is to ensure the correct dissemination of the project and its results, both internally to all project partners and the EC during the life of the project, and externally to the target group once the project is finalised. A good dissemination of the results to the target community will ensure that TEs will be working in a high quality and safety manner that guarantees the safety of tissues and thus recipients.Acces to Work Package 02
  • Work package n° 3 | Evaluation of the Project
    Leader: TSF partners involved: All
The evaluation of the project and its results will be continuously performed by all the project partners. A midterm evaluation will be performed to map the projects’ achievement. At the end of the project, an evaluation report will be provided to explain in detail the evaluation methodology. It will focus on the elaboration of the Euro-GTPs draft, the validation and approval processes, the final GTPs Guide, the Training model and training course, and the evaluation of the participants’ knowledge and the efficacy of the training.Acces to Work Package 03
  • Work package n° 4 | Generic European GTPs
LEADER: TSF PARTNERS INVOLVED: Regea, BTV, KCBTiK, ESB, BIS Foundation, ISS-CNT
The main objective of this working package is to develop Good Tissue Practices on the generic processes carried out in a TE which are not specific to any tissue type, but generic for all, such as general management issues, documentation needs, controls, tissue procurement, processing, preservation, storage and distribution methods, and also GTPs for the donor selection and evaluation process of multi-tissue donors, and tissue recovery techniques. Additionally, these GTPs will provide information on risk assessments and on how to validate these generic processes.Acces to Work Package 04
  • Work package n° 5 | Ocular-specific European GTPs
Leader: Regea partners involved: HBM, CBC, TSF
The aim of this WP is to elaborate GTPs for ocular tissue donor selection and evaluation process, as well as for the procurement of ocular tissue from multi-tissue donors and for the processing, preservation and storage methods of this specific tissue type (a specific ocular tissue guideline).Acces to Work Package 05
  • Work package n° 6 | Cardiovascular (CV)-specific European GTPs
Leader: BTV partners involved: Regea, EHB, TSF
The aim of this WP is to elaborate GTPs for cardiovascular tissue donor selection and evaluation process, as well as for the procurement of cardiovascular tissue from multi-tissue donors and for the processing, preservation and storage methods of this specific tissue type (a specific cardiovascular tissue guideline).Acces to Work Package 06
  • Work package n° 7 | Musculoskeletal (MSK)-specific European GTPs
Leader: KCBTIK partners involved: BUTB, BTV, TSF
The aim of this WP is to elaborate GTPs for musculoskeletal tissue donor selection and evaluation process, as well as for the procurement of musculoskeletal tissue from multi-tissue donors and for the processing, preservation and storage methods of this specific tissue type (a specific musculoskeletal tissue guideline).Acces to Work Package 07
  • Work package n° 8 | Skin-specific European GTPs
Leader: ESB partners involved: HCB-QA, TSF
The aim of this WP is to elaborate GTPs for skin tissue donor selection and evaluation process, as well as for the procurement of skin tissue from multi-tissue donors and for the processing, preservation and storage methods of this specific tissue type (a specific skin tissue guideline).Acces to Work Package 08
